Reliability and Validity of a Dog Personality and Unwanted Behavior Survey

Dogs have distinct, consistent personalities, but the structure of dog personality is still unclear. Dog and unwanted behavior are often studied with behavioral questionnaires. Even though many questionnaires reliable valid measures behavior, all new questionnaire tools should be extensively validated. Here, we examined six sections: noise sensitivity, fearfulness, aggression, fear surfaces heights, separation anxiety impulsivity/inattention factor analyses. Personality consisted seven factors: Insecurity, Training focus, Energy, Aggressiveness/dominance, Human sociability, sociability Perseverance. Most sections included only one factor, section divided into two factors (Hyperactivity/impulsivity Inattention) aggression four (Barking, Stranger directed Owner aggression). We also internal consistency, test-retest reliability, inter-rater reliability convergent validity 17 traits discovered excellent validity. Finally, investigated discriminant traits, which was good. Our findings indicate that this a tool can used to study extensively.
